Why did I choose Media?

Why did you choose GCSE Media Studies? 

I chose GCSE Media Studies because I love music and films and just creating new ideas, I'm quite creative but mainly for the sake of making music videos. Last year I done Music and I loved it from beginning to end so Media would be something I predict to be a good ending for high school for me. I'm greatly into songs and Rihanna and her type of music videos so Unit 3 would be a magnificent experience for me.

Which part of the course are you looking forward to most?

The part I'm mostly and genuinely looking forward to has to be Unit 3 where we are able to go and make our music videos, throw out our own ideas and use cameras as I mentioned in the previous question, music is quite a big chunk of why I decided to take the path to Media.

What knowledge and skills do you hope to learn in Media? 

I hope to learn the most professional angels of holding a camera when shooting a scene and making videos, how to cut scenes and how to approach individuals with the camera. I also want to learn how to edit and effect out a picture, how to use photoshop and re-position pictures. Thats mainly what i'd like to learn from Media.

What grade are you realistically hoping to achieve in Media? 

Realistically, I'd say an A would be a very sensible grade for me and I think I could achieve such grade but a B would not be harm, I think I could live out with a B too but really I think A is the grade I would most like and so which its the grade I'm aiming for.

What was the last TV programme or film you watched? 

The last sort of film, more of like a document was on Tv randomly and beginning and I thought why not watch it, so I did and its called 'Murdered By My Boyfriend' Its a really heartbreaking film and its does pull at your heart strings but also very inspiring and quite engaging.

Why do you think that TV programme or film appealed to an audience?

The more a film appeals to an audience the bigger the audience but I think they appeal to an audience because people who usually make films mainly try to link to lives and typical problems around the world, genres that are most desired by individuals, for example Love. A romantic love movie would probably reach out to young women who are in love or who are just genuinely into that stuff. Sometimes bullying and sometimes school films, but as you can see they all link to people around the world.

What technology have you used to access the media in the last 24 hours? 

A technology I have used to access the media in the last 24 hours is probably the usual and typical type of things for example, Computer, the radio and a phone.

What device do you use most to access the media? 

A device i'm constantly on has to be my computer as i'm often and usually on it.

What is the main news story on the BBC News website currently? Why do you think it is the main story?

Judge rebukes Cameron for comments on Coulson conviction... I think the reason this is probably the main news story because it has David Cameron so its most likely to go public news.

What is the main news story on the Guardian website (guardian.co.uk) currently? Why do you think it is the main story?

Exactly like the previous news story from BBC news we have a story on David Cameron  getting comments and being rebuked and as I said before I think its the main story because David Cameron is our prime minister.

Genre
The genre for this media text is music video. The sub-genre would be love... as the music video is mainly maintained across the emotion of love. The genre is very emotional and a lot of people find it quite appealing which leads us to our next heading... Audience.

Audience
The type of audience this music video would bring or be is young teenagers... late teenagers and maybe, just maybe young adults too because its very popular and very viral towards the media, the celebrity Rihanna is very famous would it a bonus for more audience but most of all RIRI NAVY'S would be a big part of the audience and they are Rihanna fans, for examples me! Most people like teenagers usually are attracted to pop songs and popular type of songs like these, Rihanna, because its comes on many different radios that most and majority or people listen to so for example... Kiss FM and as a result it comes quite big and so many views get to it. Another way people usually come to see these are by word coming out that a new video or a new song has come out by a celebrities and people go to see it (mostly teenagers) and that's quite and mostly how pop songs from Rihanna and other songs like these get their audiences.

Platform
The platform is mainly phones as people download song through there and view them there and laptops and computers maybe even tablets if available but those are the main technologies that would be used when trying to listen to music. I'd say YouTube is where people mainly go to see videos and music lyrics and any song in general rather than listening to it on radio so most and a bigger range or people actually do use computers and phones more than sitting down for the radio as a platform which as a result just makes YouTube bigger and better as a whole.

The genre of this media text is Horror movie with not much of a plot but very scary which is why its a horror movie. People who love horror would go on these movies as they like to crouch up to something and be surprised by unexpected things come onto the screen which is what audience will be all about.

Audience
The audience that this horror movie would appeal to are people around the late teenage times or adults in the mid 20's maybe even young teenagers because of the amazing trailer its presented by. The reason people would watch horror movies is because of the fact they love being hit by unexpected things and seeing scary thing just pop up to the screen and they like to be shocked and scared by things, not literally hurt by it because its behind a screen but seeing things happen. Another thing they love about it is the mystery it includes that a lot of young adults or teenagers find quite appealing which is what bring them to horror movies as a whole, but that's where most of the audience for horror movies come from and which type of people as personality wise watch movies like devil.

Platform
The platform where this movie would mostly or most likely be watched on are technologies like computer or Netflix as for now and lastly the cinema when it came out originally. You can ever only watch things like this on TV or in the cinema like I already said but this is quite old and between us, me myself, I watched it on the laptop on Netflix or so because I missed the actual date these things came out or this movie devil came out.


Comedy by Tre Melvin.

 Genre

The genre of this media text is comedy with many different clips to entertain people and all made by Tre Melvin with help from friends. He's making them to create smiles on peoples faces when watching his videos but also getting an audience or a group of people who would be really interested in him and watching his videos almost every day. This is how he has a lot of subscribers as well.

Audience
The audience that this comedy clip or comedy clips created by Tre Melvin would be Teenagers young and old but I would never really imagine an adult so only and mostly teenagers. The reason I say teenagers is because the guy, Tre melvin usually talks about stuff relating to young teenagers or young adults and acting out towards people who may be around the age 14-22 around that. Some of his videos do talk about parenting also, so in that case some parents are quite an exception when it comes to a couple of his videos but its mainly and usually teenagers and young adults but never old, old type of people.

Platform
Probably the most common place where you could watch these shows are on computers and laptops
through to youtube because as you can see Tre melvin is a youtuber, he isn't someone who preforms in front of a real life audience or any other such, but actually makes his videos at home where he shares his thoughts and videos online onto his youtube account where he can get his audience. In that case his videos are only actually approached on laptops where you can get youtube, computer and Ipads or phone, basically anything you can get youtube on.
